Easier to get there
Museum of Bordeaux is well connected by public transport.
Access is facilitated in the area around the museum.
If you arrive from Place du Champ de Mars, a ramp for people with reduced mobility (located at library level) provides access to the museum forecourt.
Inside the museum, an elevator is available for all floors of the building.
The paths in the Public Gardens and the museum forecourt are compacted, to ensure accessibility for all.

Upon arriving at the Museum
The reception team can welcome you in French, English or Spanish.
They will tell you about the different ticket prices and everything you need to know for your visit.
A pushchair, a manual wheelchair and lockers are at your disposal.
If you have sensory sensitivities...
The museum offers an hour of quiet time on Saturdays, 1 pm - 2 pm.
During this time, the lights and sound are reduced for your comfort.
Sensory objects will soon be available at the reception.
And to hear better...
The reception and multimedia room are fitted with sound loops.
Using our sense of touch to understand differently
In the various exhibitions, you will find displays that you can touch, such as the mystery boxes on the ground floor where you can discover textures.
In the Aquitaine Coast exhibition, you will find a relief map.
In Eat me, if you can!, you can touch multiple items that represent the way in which a species feeds itself.
Other accessibility measures at the Museum...
The scientific mediators, who you can identify by their white jackets, are there to answer your questions.
They will also make your visit richer by introducing you to other collections using the mediation carts.
From these carts, you can pick up a map, a visitor's booklet or a kids’ booklet to deepen the museum experience.
The museum layout is modern and trilingual, meaning that visitors can have a closer connection with the specimens.
Audioguides are available, to hear the multimedia show in English or Spanish.
